About Kathryn

I began knitting when I was pregnant with my oldest son and was an instant addict. When I was expecting his brother I felt the need to make him a blanket, but not just any baby blanket. I wanted to knit him a very specific blanket that at that point existed only in my head. So I figured out how to make it, went through the process of recording it and publishing it so others could make it too, and Giant’s Causeway was born. After that I couldn’t stop and have been designing knitting patterns ever since.

I try to design pieces that I want to wear and use and reflect a timeless quality. Knitting is a slow process, an investment. I want knitters to be left with pieces that fit and will be worn for years to come.

Every so often I pick up my knitting, pack my stash, and move on. I’ve spent the last eleven years living in seven different countries on four different continents. The constant has been knitting and designing.
